Concluding remarks
Several weeks ago, we sent you a package of information about the 2008 Status of Women Leadership Awards, with details regarding nominations of female members and students. We have finalized the selections. The individual award winners will be informed by letter during the week of March 24th, 2008. A broadcast fax listing all of the winners has already gone to all schools.
We are now pleased to invite you to attend the Dinner at which these awards will be presented. A package of information regarding the dinner was sent to all schools and included information on how to reserve a spot at the dinner. Please get in touch with your Status of Women Rep or Branch President for a copy of this information. Alternatively, below you will find a dinner reservation form which can be downloaded, completed and returned to us with the attached cheque.
District 12 pays the cost of the dinner only for those Teachers/PSSP members who are award winners. The school is asked to pay for student award winners. All other attendees must pay individually. A cheque made payable to “OSSTF District 12” in the amount of $30.00 per person must accompany each reservation form.
We will be arranging a seating plan and will try to seat schools together as much as possible. To help us organize this in the best way possible, please feel free to reserve a table(s) for your school and indicate who should be seated at this table. The venue will be set up in tables of 10.
This year we have tried to accommodate diverse dietary needs. Therefore, it is important that you indicate your choice of meals on the reservation form. Unfortunately no substitutions can be made at the dinner.
We are happy to confirm Susan Ursel, a labour and human rights lawyer with the firm Green & Chercover, as our guest speaker. We are sure Susan will be very interesting and informative for all our guests.
We hope you will be able to attend this event to honour our students and members who have demonstrated leadership skills in their schools and communities.
Thank you for your assistance in promoting this event. If you have any further questions, please contact our office at 416-393-8900.
