Mutually Agreed Position Switch (M.A.P.S):

M.A.P.S. is a teacher-initiated switch of teaching positions agreed to by both teachers and both Principals, and approved at the Board-wide Placement Meeting, resulting in a new designation of home school for both teachers.

M.A.P.S. will be approved under the following conditions:

-The switch is proposed after June 6, 2008.

-It is teacher initiated.

-The switch is qualifications based.

-The switch is supported by the two teachers involved and the two Principals involved. The switch will not be approved without the agreement of all four people.

-The switch will be brought to the Board-wide Placement Meeting by the Staffing Officer, after the Principal has informed the Staffing Officer, for approval. Once it has been approved, the switch will be permanent and the home school of both teachers will be changed.

-The M.A.P.S. process will be available until 12 noon on the Thursday before school opens in 2008.
