February 20, 2006.

Attention Branch Presidents:

Possible CUPE 4400 Job Action

If CUPE 4400 walk out, staff at a number of schools will be sent to other nearby sites because of safety concerns due to the untended boilers.

If this occurs at your school, go to the assigned sites. If there is a mass picket at that site, the mass picket protocol described in the most recent President’s Memo is in effect. Tell members that if there is a mass picket, they should find the school’s branch president.

If there is no mass picket, members can be assigned duties in lieu of teaching but they should not perform duties normally performed by CUPE workers.

If you have any questions, please call the office (416-393-8900).
