By and for students - From School 2 School: Our Kids Our Future, together with Campaign 2000, has spearheaded a project called "From School 2 School", which shows schools how to support the Make Poverty History initiative: from doing "school wraps", to wearing white bands, to wrapping lockers in Make Poverty History barrier tape. Joshua Liu, leader of Our Kids Our Future says “Our project revolves around our website at http://www.school2school.net , which provides online toolkits/instructions on how to do a school wrap or purchase Make Poverty History resources. We currently have schools across Canada interested in this initiative, specifically several in Toronto. In addition to our own high school, we have already inspired 2 high schools in Toronto and 1 high school in New Brunswick [who ran] school events on October 17, 2005. Many more are interested in running events in November.” Read “It Starts in the Schools” by Jason Liu. Check out the site and pass on to interested kids and schools: http://www.school2school.net
Make Poverty History teacher resource package from Worldbeat: The Saskatchewan Council for International Cooperation (SCIC) in partnership with the Saskatchewan Council of Social Sciences (SCSS), a Special Subject Council of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, developed this package which contains posters, banner tape, wrist bands and a CD-ROM. In an effort to assist teachers in presenting information on this complex topic to students, this edition of the WorldBeat Global Education Resource E-zine focuses on lesson plans with global poverty themes, as well as information about more resources and opportunities for taking part in the Make Poverty History Campaign.
